The company was the brainchild of Hawaiian designer Ruben Tapia, with a unique design aesthetic featuring curves, contours, textures, and openings that simply could not be machined. Instead, they were produced through additive manufacturing. The 3D printing of metals was quite new at the time, and almost prohibitively expensive, but the resulting beads were absolutely astonishing. Kromentum Begleri became legendary, and as Ruben moved on to other projects, the beads became scarce and eventually unavailable even on the secondary market.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe've always had a huge amount of appreciation and admiration for Ruben's designs, and the innovation he brought to the community. We are proud and honoured to be able to re-introduce these beads to the community.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKro Ultra Mini\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe Kro Ultra Minis bring a tiny, lightweight option to the Kromentum lineup. Built around a compact football-shaped bead with Kromentum's trademark eight fins incorporated into the profile, they are the smallest and most nimble beads in the Kromentum lineup, giving them a very different personality from the other designs. In titanium, the Kro Ultra Minis are \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eexceptionally\u003c\/span\u003e light and playful: easy to carry, quick in motion, and almost disappearing into the pocket when they’re not in use. Despite the low weight, they still play nicely on standard 550 paracord and retain just enough presence to feel controlled rather than flighty. The stainless steel version keeps the same compact dimensions but adds a bit more weight, giving the set a more grounded feel without losing the appeal of the miniature format. Both versions are great little everyday sets: compact enough to go anywhere, but fully capable when it’s time to sling. (Pro tip: if you find \u003cem\u003eany\u003c\/em\u003e set too light, try adding 5mm or so to your cord length; it works wonders. Or swap to a thinner cord for a completely different feel.)\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eLattice Spheres\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Lattice Spheres bring an entirely different feel to the lineup. Unlike the KroKages and the K Pod Chimes, the Lattice Spheres have a floaty feel. Their open lattice construction creates oversized beads that remain surprisingly light, offering a distinctive combination of momentum, soft impact, and tactile feedback. They are available in titanium and stainless steel, each with a choice of blasted or polished finish. Both materials are highly playable, with the titanium version on the light and floaty end at ~13.5g per set, and the stainless steel version weighing in at a more standard ~19g per set. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach bead is produced through an intricate manufacturing and finishing process before receiving its final surface treatment. The size and complexity of this design makes them a little more expensive than the other Kromentum designs we’ve released to date, but they definitely deliver on their promise. The Lattice Spheres showcase the unique character of Ruben’s design work with Kromentum, while introducing a genuinely fresh play experience to the offerings we have available across our site.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eK2s\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe K2 beads represent a genuinely unique piece of Kromentum history. The K2s are a previously unreleased design. The distinctive design is defined by sweeping twisted bars, a design that evolved from an earlier straight-bar prototype. The shape provides fantastic grip, and a truly unique appearance. And the set is highly playable.. the knot is fully recessed, and the weight lands in a very versatile middle range. We’re offering the K2s in both sandblasted stainless steel and sandblasted titanium, with stainless giving a little more heft and titanium keeping things lighter.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eKroKages\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe nimble design of the Kages is essentially conical, but highly stylized and truly unique. The beads are skeletonized, courtesy of a lattice structure, making them extremely lightweight and, frankly, super fun to play. The KroKages are available in titanium and stainless steel, with the option of sandblasted or polished finish. Both materials are lightweight, but still very playable due to the bottom-heavy weight distribution of the shape. The titanium version is around 12.8g all in with cord (very light, super fun), while the stainless steel version is closer to conventional weighting at around 19.8g all in.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eK Pod Chimes\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe iconic K Pod Chimes, one of Ruben's first designs, and possibly the most distinctive. Beyond the stunning visuals, what sets these beads apart is their unique sound. While most begleri beads produce a clacking sound when played, the K Pod Chimes make an amazing pinging sound when they hit together. They feel great in the hand, and play incredibly well. The size and texture make them nimble, while still anchoring securely between the fingers. We're offering the K Pod Chimes in stainless steel and titanium options \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ewith respective polished and sandblasted finishes\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e. While the stainless (at ~25g full set) does feel noticeably heavier than the titanium (at ~16g full set), both sit in the sweet spot for weight and feel great to
